Animal Rights/Food Politics

The Animal Rights/Food Politics club is created to provide students who are concerned about animal cruelty, the conditions of factory farms, the proliferation of processed foods, the treatment of farm workers, the influence of corporate interests n food politics and policy and organic plant-based food options with a support group to discuss, educate and advocate for these concerns.

Creative Writing Club

To serve as a community of support for writers and aspiring writers seeking to practice and showcase their craft in a welcoming environment. To provide members with information on local educational resources, including but not limited to: Writing and Publishing workshops, Local poetry and open mic nights, writing contests, writing scholarships.

The purpose of the Future Leaders Club is to provide peer support and up-to-date information and educational opportunities to students planning to transfer to a four-year university. The club will sponsor activities that allow students to explore transfer options and to gain valuable information about the transfer process.

National Association of Hispanic Journalists-SD Chapter

To promote and advocate for multicultural diversity in the media, encourage and support the study and practice of multicultural diversity in the media, to foster and promote fair treatment of minorities in the media and to network with students and media professionals to foster a greater understanding of Hispanic and other minority professionals' cultural identities, interests and concerns.

The purpose of the Photo Club is to expand and explore photographic avenues beyond the classroom. We have field trips, museum visits, photo shoots, photo contests, movie nights, guest speakers, and more. We "focus"on film as well as digital applications. We have fun while learning more about the many facets of commercial and fine art photography.

SD City Robotics

San Diego City Robotics Club is an exciting team of students interested in developing new robotic technology. Members will be able to contribute to designing and constructing a robotic submarine which competes in the annual Robo-sub Competition. The goal of the competition is to advance the development of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) by challenging a new generation of engineers to perform realistic missions in an underwater environment. The event also serves to foster ties between young engineers and the organizations developing AUV technologies.
